1. We are a part of the universe.
2. We are conscious and observing the universe.
3. Therefore, the universe is conscious and observing itself.

It's quite obvious, really.

We are what we think.
All that we are arises with our thoughts.
With our thoughts, we make our world.

but where does the universe come from, what has created everything.

I don't think consciousness is a defenition of God.

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.-- Revelation 4:11

I don't think your God answers that question at all. By definition, the universe is the sum of all things, including any god. It cannot have been created by any outside entity, because no outside entities exist.

"God" is the easy answer to a set of inherently unanswerable questions. Personally, I find the questions themselves irrelevant.
